Emily and Eliot hosted their friends and family for a fun, colorful wedding at Castaway in NW Portland, Oregon.
Castaway is such a fun venue to decorate as it is truly a blank slate that also has a ton of neutral architectural interest. It’s a fairly wide open space so we’ve seen a ton of different layouts and designs. For Emily and Matt, they wanted to have a fairly traditional Jewish ceremony so we placed the chuppah in the windowed corner for a light filled, but also protected site. After the ceremony guests made their way outside for cocktails under the venue’s tent. Meanwhile catering, myself and their wedding planning team transitioned the indoor space into their dinner and dancing reception.
The couple wanted to keep the flowers light and airy in shades of peach, cream, green and yellow with pops of coral and blue. Early summer blooms such as garden roses, dahlias, cosmos and chamomile took center stage in multiple centerpiece styles. A greenery chandelier hung over the dance floor while coordinating greenery vines climbed up support columns and overhead inside of the space.
Thank you so much to the couple for including us in the wedding day and the vendor team for a seamless, smooth, positive experience before, during and after!
