Portland Winery Wedding

Pale pink wedding flowers at Amaterra

Kaitlan and Matt hosted their friends and family to their wedding ceremony and reception at Amaterra Winery in Portland’s west hills.

If you look around on our site or blog much you’ll notice Amaterra comes up quite a bit!  We’ve definitely worked there quite a bit in recent years but I think part of why the images stand out to me is the venue is just so dang photogenic.  A neutral color palette, clean lines, textural interest and tons of natural light really let flowers shine.  Similarly, that neutral palette also allows for a massive range of colors and styles to shine through in the space.

Unlike our last wedding we posted which was all white and super modern, this wedding is really colorful, gardeny and romantic.  I love them both!  Seasonality also plays a huge part in wedding flowers and Kaitlan loved the idea of using as many of the locally grown flowers as possible.  With a mid-August date that meant we leaned heavily into dahlias, garden roses, lisianthus, zinnias, clematis and herbs in sherbety hues. Clean lined vessels and candles kept the look feeling current and coordinated well with the room.

Thank you so much to the couple for including us in the wedding day and the vendor team for a seamless, smooth, positive experience before, during and after!
