House on the Metolius Welcome Party!

Connor and Taylor hosted a vibrant rehearsal dinner at House on the Metolius the night before their wedding day.

Having spent significant time in the Camp Sherman/Sisters/Black Butte area in my life I was so surprised a few years ago when I saw pictures of the House on the Metolius for the first time!  Here is a GORGEOUS, very large, property right on the Metolius and right near all of the campgrounds we spent countless hours at as kids.  What a fun “discovery” as an adult!  That said, it is fairly hidden with a very inconspicuous sign on a dirt road.  What’s beyond that sign though is a large home (originally built and still owned by the Jantzen swimwear family), numerous cabins, a large meadow and incredible views.   I’m a huge fan of Oregon destination weddings and this place is pretty perfect.  3 hours from Portland and lodging for up to 46 guests.   If your guest count extends beyond that number there are countless other lodging options within 30 minutes.

Connor and Taylor did it right by making the most of the space and hosting numerous events at different sites on the property over a long weekend.  First up was this colorful and festive rehearsal dinner!  Mexican food was served, a long communal table was set and playful florals filled the table.  Marigolds, geranium, dahlias and zinnias stole the show in terracotta vases to celebrate both the season and theme for the event.  We hope you enjoy!

It takes a village and these two chose a great crew!
