Erin and Thomas’ Waverley Country Club wedding in SE Portland was a true dream job!
My favorite weddings are often for siblings of former clients! I was fortunate to provide florals for Erin’s older sisters wedding in 2020 and loved getting to know the family while we planned before, and during, the pandemic. Nora from Bridal Bliss was also the planner for that wedding so we had a really wonderful built in rapport when beginning planning this time around!
Waverley Country Club is such a classic Portland venue and one of the challenges/gifts of working there is honoring and embracing the natural beauty while creating fresh ideas for recurring guests. To do so, we moved the ceremony down by the river under a Sperry and used a serpentine aisle to make the most of the space. I also LOVE how the aisle added movement to the space! Dinner took place under a huge tent draped with greenery, classic florals and loads of candles. And the piece de resistance (for me at least, haha) was the ceiling installation we made inside the clubhouse for the late night dancing. This was a really fun challenge as Waverley doesn’t have any ceiling hang points, we didn’t want truss and of course anything that might damage the walls or ceiling (nails, tape, gum, etc) is allowed. The ceiling of greenery, babies breath and metallic balls was a true team effort and a three day process so I could not be more grateful for my team!
Huge thanks also to the vendor team who made this day so relaxed and beautiful. And most importantly, thank you to Erin, Thomas and their families for their continued support and trust in us! I can’t wait for the next one.
